What the report covers
On 8 October 2026, at the FY2027 Executive Budget Hearing, the Liberia National Tourism Authority asked for US$32.41 million: 8.8 times the Authority's first vote, twice the whole Agriculture sector, and a sum that would rank it 11th among the 120 spending entities of the FY2026 budget. The report reads the request against the whole budget — every national budget since FY2014/15, the half-year the Comptroller has just closed, in which the Authority had paid out 19% of its vote, and the FY2027 projections already printed in the FY2026 book, which cut every sector. It sets out the record behind the request, seven questions for lawmakers and the four answers the Legislature could give, what the request would require of the tourism industry, what is at stake for Liberia, and what the record supports: a phased programme of about US$12 million in FY2027, released against conditions, with the statistics funded first. Every figure is sourced to a document and page in the report, its annexes or the companion workbook. The full report is available on request: write to info@liberialedger.com.
